Using the Formative Assessment Process to Include More Children

Caregivers and teachers use the formative assessment process to collect evidence about children in their care. In early childhood settings, these may include children with or without disabilities. To create truly inclusive settings in which children receive differentiated supports, according to their needs, observational data can be used in a teacher or caregiver’s planning. This session will provide tips on how to create systems that make observational data collection more efficient and meaningful.
