Marquita F. Davis, Ph.D., is a nationally respected leader with more than two decades of experience guiding complex public-sector, nonprofit, philanthropic, and mission-driven organizations.
Known for her ability to translate bold vision into disciplined execution, Dr. Davis has led academic and policy strategy for one of the nation’s largest early learning enterprises, managed national philanthropic portfolios, and directed statewide budgets totaling $19B. Dr. Davis previously served as Chief Academic Officer & Senior Vice President at KinderCare Learning Companies, where she strengthened enterprise accountability systems and advanced national policy priorities affecting more than 200,000 children. At the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, she directed portfolios focused on scaling evidence-based early learning innovations. Earlier in her career, she served as Alabama’s Chief Fiscal Officer and Commissioner for Children’s Affairs. She serves on several national boards and advisory committees, contributing her expertise to organizations advancing early childhood education, human development, and community well-being.\
