Vision
Seed a lifetime of curiosity and possibility.
Our vision is our true north – the dream that inspires us to keep reaching higher. Seed a lifetime of curiosity and limitless potential captures the lasting impact we strive to make in the lives of children, sparking their drive to explore, grow, and thrive. We chose “seed” because early childhood is where the roots of learning take hold, and everything we do at Teaching Strategies is about planting those foundational seeds that flourish over a lifetime.
Curiosity is the spark that fuels wonder, questions, and discovery. Limitless potential reflects our belief that every child, no matter their background or circumstance, deserves the best possible start while the brain is still in its period of rapid development. By nurturing curiosity and possibility in the earliest years, we open the door to a lifetime of learning and growth. Note, our target audience for our vision statement is the audience for whom this all matters most: The child.
Mission
Empower all early childhood educators to maximize each and every child’s growth.
Our mission is our overarching objective — measurable, achievable, and ideally inspiring. It’s our reason to jump out of bed in the morning and is our company’s purpose. Teaching Strategies’ mission focuses on the educator, because they are the gravitational center of our approach, connecting children, families, and communities.
Our mission defines the how (empower), the who (all early childhood educators — not just the most experienced or well-resourced), and the what (maximize growth for each and every child). Each reflects our commitment to helping educators respond to the individual needs of every child. Every reflects our drive to ensure all children, regardless of background or circumstance, have the opportunity to grow.
Our Values
At Teaching Strategies, we live by what we teach. Our values reflect our commitment to supporting educators, administrators, children, and families with the same intentionality, care, and excellence that we encourage in every classroom. They guide how we work together, how we innovate, and how we advance our mission.
One of our greatest strengths is our supportive and high-performance culture — a combination few companies achieve, and one we’re proud to have built at Teaching Strategies. We are also unique in pursuing both a mission to do good and a drive to do well. Few callings are as important as ours: empowering all early childhood educators to maximize each and every child’s growth.
Just as educators depend on funding to bring their programs to life, we rely on strong execution and financial performance to bring our solutions and services to life. And the better we execute, the more we can reinvest those profits back into this mission — creating a virtuous cycle made possible by our supportive and high-performance culture.
Here are the six values that bring this special culture to life:
We serve educators, administrators, children, and families — but educators come first because they are the center of the classroom and nurture every relationship.
We chose the word champion instead of simply support because our commitment goes beyond providing resources. To champion educators means we actively advocate for them, elevate their voices, and ensure they have the respect, tools, and professional learning they need to succeed. It’s a commitment to put educators first in the decisions we make and the solutions we create.
In action:
- Advocating for educators and administrators in policy, funding, and public discourse.
- Equipping teachers and leaders with curriculum, assessments, and professional development that inspire confidence and creativity.
- Meeting educators where they are, whether brand new or veteran, with differentiated product features, onboarding, learning, and responsive help to support their unique journeys.
- Recognizing educators as experts and ensuring their insights shape our decisions and products.
By championing educators, we in turn help them champion the children they serve.
Just as educators inspire children to reach higher and grow, we hold ourselves to the highest expectations in our work. Teaching Strategies doesn’t follow — we lead. We are trusted to meet and exceed state early learning standards with curriculum, assessment, and professional learning that are research-based, high-quality, and proven to support growth and outcomes. It’s not just the quality of what we produce that defines excellence, it’s also the way we work: by pursuing innovation, striving for efficiency, and finding ways to do more with less.
Setting the standard means fostering a high performance culture where each of us pursues excellence, gives our best, and does our best work. We set and pursue ambitious goals, openly share feedback, and hold ourselves and each other to consistently high standards.
In action:
- Striving for excellence and refusing to settle for “good enough.”
- Pursuing ambitious goals that inspire and challenge us.
- Continually raising the bar for quality and innovation, leading the way in earlychildhood education.
By setting the standard in our own work, we empower educators to reach higher for each child.
Accountability is at the heart of a high-performance culture. Because our purpose is to improve student outcomes, every one of us takes responsibility for delivering meaningful impact in all we do.
Owning the outcome means acting like an owner: taking initiative and not letting balls drop. When we fall short, we reflect, learn, and focus on solutions, not blame.
In action:
- Seeing commitments through — turning commitments into results that matter.
- Collaborating across teams to overcome obstacles and deliver on what we commit.
- Measuring success by the difference we make, not just the effort we expend.
- Taking charge of your career path. While the company provides support andresources, your progress relies on your initiative, skills development, andexcellence in your role.
By owning the outcome, we collectively are better positioned to drive child outcomes.
Just as children thrive in supportive, collaborative classrooms, we grow stronger when we lift each other. To lift each other means celebrating strengths, sharing knowledge, and stepping in to support one another — because success is never a solo journey.
In our culture, we don’t let each other fail. If one of us faces a setback, we rally to help, ensuring no challenge is faced alone and every achievement is shared.
In action:
- Recognizing and celebrating one another’s contributions, big and small.
- Freely sharing ideas, expertise, and resources to strengthen our collective impact.
- Proactively stepping in with support when teammates face challenges.
- Building trust through respect, openness, and collaboration.
By lifting each other, we create a foundation where everyone can reach their full potential—together.
Just as children learn best through curiosity, exploration, and reflection, growth at Teaching Strategies is a lifelong journey. Growth isn’t about perfection — it’s about making progress, learning from experience, and building on what we discover together. We don’t wait to be taught — we proactively seek new ideas, ask questions, and welcome challenges that spark our curiosity and even a sense of wonder. We embrace constructive feedback not as criticism, but as a gift that helps us get better. By staying curious, open, and willing to stretch ourselves, we ensure we’re always improving — for each other and for the educators, administrators, children, and families we serve.
In action:
- Proactively seeking new knowledge, skills, and perspectives to expand ourexpertise.
- Reflecting on what works — and what doesn’t — to grow stronger each day.
- Welcoming constructive feedback and using it as a path for improvement.
- Encouraging curiosity and exploration in ourselves and our teams.
By growing every day, we help ourselves — and Teaching Strategies — reach our fullest potential.
In early childhood education, change is constant — and the same is true here. Change can be unsettling and hard, but it also creates opportunities to grow. To thrive through change means we don’t just adapt; we grow stronger because of it. We approach change with curiosity, flexibility, and optimism, seeing it as a chance to learn, innovate, and move forward together.
At Teaching Strategies, resilience is more than bouncing back — it’s about leaning into challenges, finding new ways forward, and turning uncertainty into opportunity. When we thrive through change, we’re ready for whatever tomorrow brings, while staying rooted in our mission and committed to the educators, administrators, children, and families we serve.
In action:
- Welcoming new ideas, technologies, and perspectives with openness and curiosity.
- Seeing challenges as opportunities to innovate and improve.
- Supporting one another through transitions, so no one faces change alone.
- Staying rooted in our mission, even as we evolve.
By thriving through change, we prepare ourselves — and those we serve — to succeed in an ever-changing world.
