From the very start of her career, Taylor has been deeply connected to early childhood education. After spending time in the classroom as a preschool teacher, she experienced firsthand both the joys of teaching and the challenges educators face when resources are limited. That experience sparked a desire to make an impact in a new way—one that could extend beyond a single classroom.

Two years ago, that path led Taylor to Teaching Strategies, where she found an opportunity to support educators while staying true to her passion for creating positive environments for both teachers and children. What began as a role in market development has since grown into new responsibilities, giving Taylor the chance to build skills and expand her impact over time.

Now, as an Account Executive, Taylor works with programs that are new to Teaching Strategies, focusing on building relationships and exploring how the company’s solutions can meet their needs.

Recently, we asked Taylor to share her thoughts on work and life at Teaching Strategies.

Can you share a little bit of your work history and what attracted you to Teaching Strategies?

I joined Teaching Strategies two years ago, and I’ve really enjoyed my time here. What initially drew me in was the opportunity to continue making a meaningful impact in education—but from behind the scenes. Before joining the company, I worked as a preschool teacher in a private childcare setting. I absolutely loved my students and the daily experience of teaching, but I often felt there was a lack of support when it came to planning time, professional development, and overall teacher resources.

I was already familiar with GOLD from Teaching Strategies, as I had used it in one of my classrooms. I really appreciated how intuitive it was to document, collect data, and stay on track with necessary checkpoints. It made a huge difference in my ability to stay organized and support my students effectively.

Transitioning to this role allowed me to continue contributing to early childhood education in a meaningful way while also helping to support educators like my past self. I’m incredibly grateful to be here, and I’m passionate about creating positive environments for both teachers and children. That passion continues to shine through the work I do every day.

Tell us about your role at Teaching Strategies. What does your typical day look like?

I’m an Account Executive, which means I focus on reaching out to programs that haven’t used our resources before. My goal is to connect with new prospects, learn about their needs, and explore how our solutions can support their goals. I really enjoy this role because it keeps the momentum high: it’s fast-paced, challenging in the best way, and incredibly rewarding when we’re able to open new doors.

Day to day, my work involves running reports, scheduling and leading demos or meetings with prospects, prospecting new accounts, and organizing follow-ups. I’m always looking for ways to create new opportunities and build strong relationships with potential partners. It’s a great blend of strategy, communication, and persistence, and I love being part of a mission-driven company while doing it.

How has Teaching Strategies supported your growth, both personally and professionally, during your time with the company?

Teaching Strategies has supported my growth in so many meaningful ways, both personally and professionally. I’ve been given the tools and training to build strong sales skills, grow my confidence, and truly understand what it means to be part of a collaborative, mission-driven team.

One of the things I appreciate most is how the company continuously pushes me out of my comfort zone in the best way. I’ve been encouraged to take on challenges, step into new roles, and strive for goals that once felt out of reach. I always say, “If you’re not uncomfortable, you’re not growing,” and Teaching Strategies has created an environment where growth is not only possible, but expected and supported.

What is the best piece of career advice you’ve received, and how is it reflected during your time with TS?

The best piece of career advice I’ve received is to stay persistent, stay organized, and always follow up, whether that’s with your team or your partners. Consistency and communication go a long way. I’ve learned that building strong relationships and being reliable are key to long-term success.

At Teaching Strategies, I’ve seen this advice in action every day. Whether it’s collaborating with teammates or nurturing partnerships, the culture here really emphasizes connection and shared success. When one of us wins, we all win, and that mindset has made a huge impact on how I approach my work and support others.
