Section I. High/Blended Tech Guidance

Are digital teacher guides available for materials?

Teaching Strategies offers digital curriculum resources for teachers of children birth through kindergarten. The Creative Curriculum Cloud, which enables teachers to provide continuous learning includes digital versions of all of our developmentally appropriate content and curricular materials – Foundation Volumes, Teaching Guides for each study, Intentional Teaching Experiences, Mighty Minutes, At-Home Guided Learning Plans, Family Guided Learning Experiences, Family Mighty Minutes, Learning Games, and a selection of digital versions of select books from our Children’s Book Collection.

Are digital student-facing materials available?

Teaching Strategies offers digital content that can be flexible to help teachers facilitate learning remotely either directly with children in a distant setting or through their engagement with sharing resources with families, birth through kindergarten.

Ready Rosie subscriptions allow teachers to share curated playlists of modeled moment videos to guide families in engaging children in developmentally appropriate and play-based experiences in the home across all areas of development and learning.

The Creative Curriculum Cloud subscription enables teachers to provide continuous learning whether in classrooms, remote, or a hybrid of both. The Creative Curriculum Cloud provides access to a  digital content library of our curricular resources: Foundation Volumes, Teaching Guides, Mighty Minutes, Intentional Teaching Experiences, LearningGames. and a selection of books from our Children’s Book Collection.

Are there sample plans/structures available that give guidance for how a school/teacher may set up high tech distance learning? For example: sample schedules, classroom management suggestions, or feedback options

Enhanced two-way communication between school and home to support stronger feedback options and sharing of documentation.

The Creative Curriculum Cloud subscriptions provide teachers with planning calendars for creating weekly plans and access to curriculum resources digitally for their classrooms.

GOLD subscriptions provide access to our Teach area which includes all Intentional Teaching Experiences as well as family facing Guided Learning Experiences.

Kindergarten teachers also have access to resources designed specifically to support a Kindergarten Entry Assessment utilizing GOLD.

Are there print options available for student-facing materials that could be utilized in a blended digital/print approach?

GOLD provides teachers with content shareable with families including a collection of family Guided Learning Experiences, Family Mighty Minutes, and Learning Games that can be sent via our newly enhanced two-way communication or easily printed.

In addition to the features offered in GOLD, The Creative Curriculum Cloud provides comprehensive At-Home Guided Learning Plans to match each day’s daily plans within the curriculum and family versions of our full collection of Mighty Minutes and Intentional Teaching Experiences These plans can be shared digitally or easily printed.

Are there parent resources available for school systems to utilize while creating continued learning plans for digital/blended schedules?

A Ready Rosie subscription offers a comprehensive family engagement solution complete with robust content library of modeled moment videos for families as well as access to data to understand usability.

Teachers using GOLD are currently able to share LearningGames., Development and Learning Activities, Guided Learning Experiences, and Family Mighty Minutes via the Family area of GOLD.

Teachers can also partner with families to collect documentation via the enhanced 2-way communication within the Family Area of GOLD.

Section II. Analog/No Tech Guidance

Are print teacher guides available for materials?

Programs already using The Creative Curriculum have access to Teaching Guides as part of the existing curriculum.

Additionally, beginning August 2020 users of The Creative Curriculum Cloud are able to access all materials digitally including: Foundation Volumes, Teaching Guides, Mighty Minutes, Intentional Teaching Experiences, and LearningGames. These resources support a continuous learning environment for teachers to either use the content to facilitate learning remotely or to share family versions (digitally or in print) of plans for families to facilitate and extend learning at home.

Teachers can communicate with families through GOLD in the Family Area. Instructions for setup can be found here.

Are printed student-facing materials available?

No, as this is not developmentally appropriate for the age group served.

The Creative Curriculum Cloud provides printable At-Home Guided Learning Experiences that provide daily guidance for families on how they can support their child’s learning at home.

Ready Rosie subscriptions provide access to modeled moment videos that each have printable guidance of the experience shown so families without access can still replicate the learning experience.

Are there parent resources available for school systems to utilize while creating print-based continued learning plans?

Within The Creative Curriculum Cloud, LearningGames, At-Home Guided Learning Plans, Guided Learning Experiences, Mighty Minutes and Family Mighty Minutes are all available digitally and to print.

Section III. Supporting Special Populations Guidance

Is there guidance provided for teachers and/or parents in supporting English Learner students that is specific to a distance learning environment?

In addition to the guidance and strategies for supporting English learners that are woven throughout our curriculum resources and Foundation Volumes, Ready Rosie and our Resource Library within GOLD are available in Spanish.

Is there guidance provided for teachers and/or parents in supporting students with disabilities that is specific to a distance learning environment?

The Creative Curriculum Cloud provides preschool and kindergarten teachers with access to Intentional Teaching Experiences and Mighty Minutes® focused on supporting teachers scaffolding of child development either through remote instruction or family facilitation.  Additionally, family version of Mighty Minutes and Guided Learning Experiences are available for sharing with families that help to create links between curriculum and assessment.

Section IV. Future Guidance

Are there plans to provide professional development opportunities to support school systems to conduct continuous learning? Please describe.

Teaching Strategies offers their full range of professional development sessions in a virtual format. In addition, we have a robust library of online, CEU bearing professional development available by subscription. The flexibility of our online and virtual professional development allows us to dynamically create and deploy content that meets the evolving needs of teachers, administrators, and coaches related to distance learning and enhanced family engagement. We are also offering our Best Practice Webinar Series and creating regular blog

Are there plans to address students’ unfinished learning due to extended school closure?

Enhancements to GOLD and the addition of The Creative Curriculum Cloud create a continuous learning solution that enables teachers to seamlessly move from in person to virtual learning engaging families throughout.

Are there ways that the Department can support you with your plans?

Offer feedback to ensure shared resources are meaningfully utilized and generally tailored to meet the needs to LA users.

Section V. Parent Guardian

Parent Guardian

Within the Family Area of SmartTeach, family members can take photos, film videos, or write observation notes during these activities and upload them to their child’s teacher via our two-way communication. In return, teachers can review observations from families and convert family observations into GOLD documentation.

As part of our comprehensive response to support children’s development we’ve released a new app ParentPal. Features include:

  • Support for children from birth through age 5.
  • Opportunities to engage children with developmentally appropriate learning activities.
  • Valuable insight into children’s development.
  • Activities to promote healthy living with tracking.
