Heather O’Shea
Heather leads the finance, accounting, and legal functions at Teaching Strategies, ensuring optimal resource allocation in support of our mission.
Heather brings to Teaching Strategies a unique combination of finance expertise and a passion for education. She started her career in investment banking, focused on supporting clients in the education industry. She then spent several years in private equity—investing in rapidly growing education and tech-enabled services businesses and working alongside management teams to pursue strategic initiatives. Prior to joining Teaching Strategies, Heather worked at a strategy consulting firm where she helped clients find new avenues for growth and improve operational efficiency.
Heather holds a B.B.A with a concentration in Accounting from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and an M.B.A from Harvard Business School.
Heather has long had a passion for advancing education equity and a specific interest in leveraging technology to improve educational outcomes and the life prospects of children. She has worked in multiple administrative roles at Teach for America and completed a graduate fellowship program with Education Pioneers.
