Matt Harsha-Strong

Chief Financial Officer

Matt leads the finance and accounting functions at Teaching Strategies, ensuring optimal resource allocation in support of our mission.

Matt brings to Teaching Strategies a unique combination of finance expertise and mission-centric entrepreneurism. He most recently served as CFO of Uplight, a leading vertical software provider to regulated energy customers in the US and several other countries that he helped found and then build over eight years through both organic and inorganic growth. Matt also spent 11 years at AES, the largest US-based global power company which he helped transform into a renewables leader and top data center supplier. He started his career extending access to education and infrastructure globally for the U.S. Government. Matt is passionate about scaling mission-oriented businesses together with great teams.

Matt holds a B.A. in Political Science from Yale, an M.B.A from the Wharton School as Palmer Scholar, and the CFA charter. He and his wife Natalie are proud parents to two sons who thrived despite the pandemic because of access to early childhood educational resources, including Teaching Strategies. Matt wants to extend these resources to as many children as possible.
