In this 6-hour session designed for new customers beginning a journey with GOLDFinch™, we will explore how assessment supports responsive and effective teaching. You will learn how to use the Objectives for Development and Learning and progressions of development and learning to focus observations. You will also learn about how literacy screening, formative observational and game-based assessment can provide you with a comprehensive understanding of children’s knowledge, skills and abilities to inform your daily instruction. Through hands-on practice, you will discover the direct and automatic connections between the SmartTeach™ online platform, teacher app and the new Finch App to gather and use authentic information. GOLD observational data will be enhanced by Finch Formative Games and the Finch Literacy Screener, and you will leave prepared to use all three. Until August 1, 2025, we will have limited activities and practice with the Finch Literacy Screener.

In this 3-hour session for current GOLD® users, you will become confident using our new Finch™ products to compliment your GOLD observational assessment! Finch provides two foundational, formative, and fun interactive child assessment tools that automatically feed data directly into GOLD. Dive in and explore how to save time and use the Finch Formative Games and the Finch Literacy Screener to allow children to demonstrate their knowledge and abilities through our game-based assessment and literacy screener. Until August 1, 2025, we will have limited activities and practice with the Finch Literacy Screener.

Getting Started with Kickstart Literacy™ by Teaching Strategies®

We believe literacy learning should be developmentally appropriate and fun! In this session you’ll explore how to use your new Kickstart Literacy™ materials to supplement your current practices to provide comprehensive literacy instruction, based on the science of reading. We start by helping you establish a strong oral language foundation in your pre-K classroom and then support you with how to build literacy skills from there. Through exploration and practice, you’ll leave confident knowing how to use each component of your new materials to help children develop skills in phonological awareness, phonemic awareness, phonics, and letter formation. You will also learn how to seamlessly add Kickstart Literacy™ lessons into your digital plans in SmartTeach™, and access them on the Teaching Strategies Teacher app.

Come and join our fun and informative session specially designed for teachers and caregivers of infants and toddlers! In this session, we will show you how to use The Creative Curriculum® Cloud and the Teaching Strategies® Teacher app to enhance your teaching practices when using The Creative Curriculum® for Infants or The Creative Curriculum® for Toddlers. Throughout the session, you will learn step-by-step procedures for accessing teaching resources from the Library area and become skilled at navigating and using the platform’s planning tools. You’ll also discover how to plan engaging and age-appropriate routines and experiences for the children using the Teach area in The Creative Curriculum® Cloud. Not only that, but you will also learn how to complete the screener, communicate with families, and access teaching resources using the Teaching Strategies® Teacher app. In addition, you will discover digital tools and resources available to help you build strong partnerships with families and create a more inclusive and collaborative learning environment.
