During this engaging 6-hour session, participants will take their science of reading knowledge to the next level, by applying the research to The Creative Curriculum® approach. Through interactive large- and small-group experiences and individual reflection, participants will consider how to apply the science or reading research to enhance the classroom learning environment and engage young children in meaningful experiences that will nurture their language learning and literacy development. Participants will learn how the science or reading research relates to The Creative Curriculum® approach and how to apply the resources effectively, in alignment with the GOLD® objectives for development and learning. By the end of this session, participants will be able to articulate how their programs will build upon their current language and literacy practices to support best practices related to the science of reading.  Participants’ completion of prior science of reading professional development is required to schedule this session. Participants will explore a typical day using the components of The Creative Curriculum® for Pre-K and leave knowing how to incorporate each resource into the day. Participants will become familiar with the 38 objectives for development and learning and how they are used to individualize instruction.
