Participants will learn how to choose appropriate study topics, understand how to prepare for a study, and investigate how to effectively implement a study from beginning to end. Through hands-on interactive experiences, participants will be introduced to the three parts of a study and the benefits of conducting long-term investigations with children. If so, Inspiring Interactions: Exploring the Teacher’s Role in Interest Areas, is for you! During this 6-hour advanced session for users of The Creative Curriculum® for Transitional Kindergarten, participants will discover techniques for facilitating important content learning, including literacy and mathematics learning, in interest areas. Participants will be introduced to a collection of helpful teaching strategies that nurture creativity, encourage problem-solving, and engage children in critical thinking. Through discussions and activities, teachers will examine their role in supporting, and extending, high quality play experiences during Choice Time. Additionally, teachers will practice aligning Objectives for Development and Learning, along with associated support strategies, to child-led play scenarios.
