STEAM (science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics) serves as an integrative approach to teaching that allows children to explore, question, research, create, and discover. During this 6-hour session, for teachers using The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool, Guided Edition, participants will examine the many facets of STEAM and explore its connection to the objectives for development and learning. Educators will learn how to integrate science and technology throughout the day and will discover how in-depth, project-based investigations support STEAM learning in the preschool classroom. Participants will unpack strategies for teaching children about physical science, life science, the earth and the environment, and, through hands-on interactive activities, explore the four steps of the engineering design process. Users will also learn how Teaching Guides and the Daily Resources help support STEAM planning.
