Designed for individuals who provide direct classroom support to teachers, this session introduces participants to the 2nd Edition Coaching to Fidelity and The Fidelity Checklist for Administrators or the new Coaching to Fidelity app and corresponding Coaching to Fidelity Checklist for Teachers, resources that enable the measurement of teachers’ fidelity of implementation of The Creative Curriculum® and provide actionable suggestions to support teachers’ instructional practices. During the session, participants will identify the characteristics of fidelity, examine strategies for observing teachers using a strengths-based lens, and learn how to engage teachers in ongoing coaching cycles. Programs using the Coaching to Fidelity app will learn how to navigate the digital resource and leverage the tool during each component of the coaching cycle.

This 6-hour session is designed to help teachers using The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool, Guided Edition effectively implement studies in their classrooms. Participants will learn how to choose appropriate study topics, understand how to prepare for a study, and investigate how to effectively implement a study from beginning to end. Through hands-on interactive experiences, participants will be introduced to the three parts of a study and the benefits of conducting long-term investigations with children. Additionally, participants will learn how to address the objectives for development and learning in meaningful ways during a study and how to include families and the community in children’s learning.

Grounded in the formative assessment cycle—Observe and Collect Facts, Analyze and Respond, Evaluate and Summarize, Plan, and Communicate—this interactive session helps educators see assessment not as a task to complete, but as a powerful tool to guide everyday teaching. Participants actively explore the distinction between formative practices (using preliminary levels to inform daily instruction) and summative practices (checkpoints that support reporting and communication). Through guided reflection and real-world application, educators deepen their understanding of how assessment and curriculum work together—reinforcing GOLD® as an authentic, observation-based, curriculum-embedded resource rather than a stand-alone requirement. Enhancing Interrater Reliability for GOLD®

Interrater Reliability is a process designed to verify a teacher’s ability to assign accurate and reliable assessment levels to observations and documentation of children’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Achieving Interrater Reliability means that a teacher’s assessment decisions align with those of the expert raters at Teaching Strategies® who developed GOLD® as a system to support ongoing, authentic, observation-based assessment. Achieving interrater reliability (or reliability for any tool) can be challenging. During this 3-hour session, participants will be introduced to helpful strategies for navigating the interrater reliability process successfully. Additionally, participants will be led by a Teaching Strategies® expert through a series of practice exercises, evaluating example evidence of social-emotional, physical, language, cognitive, literacy, and mathematics development and learning and hearing details on why a piece of documentation and the knowledge skills and abilities it reflects is assigned a particular rating. Note: Participants must complete Introduction to GOLD® prior to this session. This session is suitable for teachers of children from birth-kindergarten, and includes examples of children at a range of ages and abilities.

Through engaging discussions and hands-on exploration of curriculum resources, educators will consider practical ways to embed Al’s Pals® into daily classroom routines and instruction. Furthermore, the session will explore the critical role of resiliency as a protective factor against ACEs. You will learn to identify the seven protective factors that mitigate the impact of childhood stressors and discover how Al’s Pals® cultivates these factors within children. By the end of the session, you will have developed a comprehensive plan for implementing Al’s Pals®, empowering you to make a positive impact on the lives of children by fostering their social-emotional well-being and resilience.
