Program leaders will be introduced to impactful strategies that support the inclusion of young children, with and without disabilities, and their families. Throughout the session, administrators will discuss strategies for leading collaborative teams that support the learning and development of children with disabilities. During this 1-day session, participants will explore their role in promoting the healthy social-emotional development of infants, toddlers, and twos. Participants will discover practical strategies for building a positive relationship with each child and strategies for promoting positive relationships between and among children. In addition, caregivers will explore and practice implementing a variety of strategies for fostering strong family partnerships. Participants will be introduced to developmentally appropriate expectations for children’s behaviors and will learn how to leverage positive guidance strategies. Caregivers and teachers will also discuss practices for navigating challenging behaviors, such as biting and temper tantrums.

Through discussions and activities, teachers will examine their role in supporting, and extending, high quality play experiences during Choice Time. Additionally, teachers will practice aligning Objectives for Development and Learning, along with associated support strategies, to child-led play scenarios.
